This painting is inspired by the cult 80s TV series, Robin of Sherwood. It's loosely based on a scene when Robin and Marion are married in Sherwood Forest by the mysterious figure of Herne.
I absolutely loved this show as a kid and I had a massive teenage crush on Marion, played by Judi Trott. I also had a mullet like Michael Praed, but the less said about that the better.
